Writing a culinary guide for India is a life task, so various are its countless cuisines, so many dishes are there to taste and so many different versions of each recipy exist in each village and each family. Nevertheless, we tried to pick our favorites, the ones where you we would say you haven't really experienced India, if you don't try them. Feel free the add to the list, it is far from complete! Dosa, Tamil Nadu While dosas look somewhat like crepes, appearance is the only thing they have in common. First mentioned in a text from the 12th century, this ancient south Indian dish is made with a fermentted batter out of rice and black gram. It is usually served with a filling and sambar and chutney as sidedishes. The most famous variation is probably masala dosa, stuffed with spiced potatoes. But there are dozens of other traditional and modern versions of this south Indian staple dish. No trip to India is complete without dosa, don't even think about skipping it. Kerala, Alleppey Fish Curry This is a not spicey fish curry which gets its special tangy taste from the combination of coconut milk and raw mango. The fish is coated in a special spice mix and the sauce is prepared with mustard seeds and fenugreek. It's just the right dish to be enjoyed under the sheer endless, paradise-like palm groves of Kerala. Vada Pav, Maharastra By now vada pav is a popular snack all over India, but it has its origins in the street food stalls of Mumbai, and that's still the place where you get the best one. Vada pav consists of a deep fried potato dumpling with chili, garlic and other spices inside a bread bun. It's usually served with an additional green

The new year has started and one thing you know for sure: This year you need more adventure and excitement in your life! You've come to the right place at the Travel Scientists, because that's exactly what we do: adventure. But we get that sometimes it can be a little tough to choose the one trip, which is the right for you, hence we've provided a little adventure rally guide, to help you in the decision making process! The Rickshaw Challenge What is it? A crazy rickshaw race across India. Yes, you read correctly! You and your team mates will drive your own rickshaw through the crazy Indian traffic, crossing mega cities and small villages, passing temples, rice fields and coconut palms - with an occasional trip to the beach. We give you a rickshaw, an itinerary and - depending on the package you choose - we also take care of your accommodation. Experience true adventure during the day and relax in the evening with the other teams, sharing crazy stories from the road. And to make exploring even easier for you, we have a luggage truck, which will bring your big suitcases to the next hotel each day , so you don't have to worry about anything while being on the road, except about finding the right one. What makes it special? This is a way to experience India in its most authentic form far from any group tour. In fact, you'll probably go for days without seeing any other travellers. And how many people can claim that they've been driving a rickshaw for thousands of kilometers - and survived? Who should go? Everybody. No matter if your are old or young, Australian or Italian, if you have rally experience or not. This trip is designed for everybody.

What we learnt on the India's Cup 2018. The India's Cup rally is one of the most exciting events on the Travel Scientists' calendar. We love rickshaws (and bulls!) but as we continually discover in our many other exciting events, sometimes you can't beat a car! This event is designed to test our cars, and participants, to the maximum, in order to experience as much of South India's diversity as we can possibly fit in a couple of weeks. We think we (and our brave teams) did a good job. Here are some of the highlights: Fantastic Cars Any vehicle is accepted the India's Cup. However: the more classic, and the less suitable, the better. This time though, the field were all in Hindustan ambassadors; a real classic of Indian roads, this made for an interesting blend of fitting in and (as a group) standing out. Most importantly, they took teams 2700 kilometers, from Chennai to Goa (with a lot of detours in between). Most of the Time... One thing about these cars: they are... temperamental. Especially on hot, long days, with drivers who aren't used to this unique vehicle. It took some getting used to, and quite a few pit-stops along the way, but by the end of the trip our teams had learned to love them like family (fault air-con included...). Amazing Scenery We saw some of South India's most remarkable places, like the 'Venice of the East', Alleppey, pictured above. Other highlights included the tea fields of Ooty and, of course, the beaches of Goa. So Much History Being India, of course, there were also many historic sights to see. We even had an excellent guide Deepa, pictured here showing participants around the incredible ruined city of Hampi. The Sea Temple at Mamallapuram and the Chinese fishing nets of Kochin will
